After his call to the Bar in 1983, Santo began his practice in the core areas of family law and civil litigation. In 1993, he became one of the three founding members of Bianchi Presta LLP, and in October 1994, he was appointed, and remains a standing agent for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada for Newmarket.
Santo strongly believes that an informed client is one of the most important aspects of a successful resolution of any legal matter, and even more so in family law matters, especially during the challenging and stressful times of marriage breakdown and life transition. He helps each client feel comfortable and informed through timely communication, a thorough explanation of the legal process, and a clear focus on their needs. He earns their trust and confidence by providing experienced and sound legal advice and professional service in a resolution-oriented, cost-effective and compassionate manner.
His experience within family law (including the areas of child and spousal support, child custody and access rights, divorce, and various domestic contracts), enables him to analyze each unique family situation and identify areas of potential dispute and risk, provide a realistic assessment of the client’s position, and develop appropriate strategies to protect their rights. Santo’s practice also includes drafting comprehensive Wills and Powers of Attorney, as well as assisting families to administer the estates of deceased loved ones.
When not volunteering his time on behalf of Villa Colombo and Villa Charities, Santo is a passionate sports fan, enjoys cooking and espionage novels, and is still trying to break 100 in his occasional rounds of golf.
